Terms of use

The basics, in plain terms.

Version 2026-09-11 · Governed by Ontario, Canada

These terms govern your use of pocketledger.ca. Using the site means you accept them. They cover the site itself — the service you’d receive is governed by a separate written agreement you’d sign with Pocket Ledger before anything starts.

Who we are

Pocket Ledger is a done-for-you accounting setup service for owner-operated businesses in Ontario, Canada.

What this site is

The site tells you about Pocket Ledger and lets you request a setup call. It is not the service, and nothing on it is a binding offer to contract.

Who it’s for

The site and service are for businesses, and for people able to enter a contract on a business’s behalf. It isn’t intended for consumers or for children.

Information, not advice

Everything here — including the journal guides — is general information to help you decide, not tax, accounting or legal advice, and not a substitute for your accountant. Rules and figures change and depend on your situation; your accountant makes the final call.

Prices and examples

The plan, the setup fee, and any capacity numbers are described on the pricing page and confirmed on the call. Prices, and every business, name and figure shown in examples, are illustrative and may be sample figures until confirmed. The price that applies to you is the one we quote and agree on the call. Nothing on this site is a binding offer, and fair-use terms for the plan are explained on the pricing page.

Asking for a call

Requesting a setup call is not a purchase and puts no obligation on either side — it starts a conversation. We’ll use what you send only to reply and discuss whether the service fits; see the privacy notice. Please don’t send bank details, passwords or tax identifiers through the form.

The service is a separate agreement

If we work together, a separate written services agreement with Pocket Ledger governs the service — its scope, fees, data handling, term and each side’s responsibilities. These site terms don’t create that relationship or entitle you to the service.

Fair use of the site

Please use the site and the form as intended. Don’t submit false or abusive requests, attempt to disrupt or probe the service, scrape or overload it, or use it to infringe anyone’s rights. Admin and account areas are for authorised users only, who must keep their credentials secure. We may decline or remove enquiries that break these rules.

Our content

The words, design and brand on this site belong to Pocket Ledger. The businesses, names and numbers in examples are fictional. You’re welcome to read, link to and share the pages; please don’t copy the site wholesale or present it as your own.

Third-party services

The site relies on third-party providers (for hosting, email and, where enabled, analytics) and may link to other sites. We’re not responsible for third-party services or the content of sites we link to.

Availability, and no warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, add or remove pages at any time, and can’t promise it’s always available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and don’t warrant that the general information here fits your particular situation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Pocket Ledger is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from using the site or relying on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, and your statutory or consumer rights are unaffected.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version that applies is the one published when you use the site. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. Questions? Email team@pocketledger.ca.
